No. As part of our “Free the Fee” commitment, Pledge does not take any fees out of the donation and covers all credit card fees for donations up to $1,000 each. Thus, 100% of the donation is passed to the nonprofit. In this case, we invite the donor to leave an optional tip for Pledge on top of their donation.
You can opt-out of this optional tip model at anytime by selecting our flat fee model, in which the credit card fees are not covered by Pledge, and a flat fee of 2.9% + 30 cents is taken from every donation. In this case, we invite the donor to cover the fees.
