Chartered in 1934, the Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL) is the oldest no-kill shelter for abandoned, abused, or neglected dogs and cats in South Central Texas. Through the operation of two facilities, a centrally located 12-acre campus and the city-owned Paul Jolly Center for Adoptions, ADL saves the lives of vulnerable animals primarily originating from the most poverty-stricken communities in San Antonio. A full veterinary hospital housed on the main campus provides spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and microchipping for all pets in ADL’s care. In addition, ADL performs specialized surgeries for animals with complex medical conditions and is the first organization to provide no-cost mobile wellness clinics to historically underserved areas. ADL’s partnership with Animal Care Services (ACS) is instrumental in helping the City of San Antonio back to achieving a “No-Kill” status.

A Precious Child assists children and families facing difficult life challenges such as abuse and neglect, crisis situations and poverty. We work with more than 400 agency partners throughout eight Denver Metro counties [Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson and Weld] to identify children and families in the most need of our services. Our core initiatives help build the whole child. In addition to meeting basic human needs through our Resource Center and Boutiques (satellite resource centers), we also help children and their families navigate community resources. This work is done through our COR (Child Outcomes Resource) Center where our Child Outcomes Advocates provide personalized case management to disadvantaged and displaced children and families, connecting them with needed resources, services, opportunities and educational support. Magen David Adom is an organization of trained volunteer and professional medical responders mandated by the Israeli government to provide the nation’s pre-hospital emergency medical care, including disaster, ambulance and blood services.

The mission of Black Girls Code is to provide Black girls access to engaging computer programming education that sparks their interest in technology, unlocks their potential, and leads to more equitable communities. We primarily work with girls ages 7-17, and young women up to age 25 as part of our alumnae program. Through our virtual programs and school and community based programs, we serve approximately 5,000 girls annually. We serve additional young people through our Code Along series via Youtube.
