Each year nearly 300,000 children enter foster care in America, tens of thousands more escape domestic violence and enter shelters with their mothers.Devastated by the experiences leading to their necessary removal from unacceptable environments, vulnerable rescued children often enter foster care and crisis shelters with nothing of their own. By rallying widespread individual, community, corporate and grantor involvement through our unique “My Stuff Bags Program”, we address the immediate physical and emotional needs of these disadvantaged children by providing childhood essentials and a message of hope
NCAC's mission is to promote freedom of thought, inquiry and expression and oppose censorship in all its forms. An alliance of 56 national non-profits, including literary, artistic, religious, educational, professional, labor, and civil liberties groups, we have engaged in direct advocacy and education to support free speech for over 40 years. NCAC is uniquely national in scope, but often local in our approach. We work with community members to resolve censorship controversies without the need for litigation.
