The mission of the ACCE Institute is to improve the lives of low income and working families in California by carrying out and supporting work that fosters community improvement and civic participation. The ACCE Institute conducts research on critical issues of concern to low- and moderate-income communities, educates the public and policy-makers about these issues, and provides capacity-building trainings to individuals and organizations. Additionally, the ACCE Institute works to increase the civic engagement of low–and – moderate income communities by helping local organizations develop non-partisan civic engagement efforts that encourage active public citizenship and voting in low and moderate-income communities.

Chucktown Squash's mission is to provide academic guidance, athletic training, community service opportunities, and mentors, via an afternoon, weekend, and summertime program that serves as a springboard, preparing low-resource kids for wide reaching success in the classroom, on the squash court, and in life.

WHRO will meet the educational, informational and cultural needs of the people of Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina through non-commercial broadcasting and educational telecommunications technologies and services, thereby improving and enriching the quality of life for people of the region. Consistent with this mission and its tradition, WHRO will continue to explore, research, demonstrate, create and distribute software (programming) and train others in its application to learning and public service.

Facing History and Ourselves uses lessons of history to challenge teachers and their students to stand up to bigotry and hate. At Facing History and Ourselves, we believe the bigotry and hate that we witness today are the legacy of brutal injustices of the past. Facing our collective history and how it informs our attitudes and behaviors allows us to choose a world of equity and justice. Facing History’s resources address racism, antisemitism, and prejudice at pivotal moments in history; we help students connect choices made in the past to those they will confront in their own lives. Through our partnership with educators around the world, Facing History and Ourselves reaches millions of students in thousands of classrooms every year. Independent research studies show that experience in a Facing History classroom motivates students to become upstanders in their communities, whether by challenging negative stereotypes at the dinner table, standing up to a bully in their neighborhood, or registering to vote when they are eligible. Together we are creating the next generation of leaders who will build a world based on knowledge and compassion, the foundation for more democratic, equitable, and just societies.

The mission of Sea Research Foundation, Inc. d/b/a Mystic Aquarium is to inspire people to care for and protect our ocean planet through conservation, education, and research.

Primary Source promotes history and humanities education by connecting educators to people and cultures throughout the world. In partnership with teachers, scholars and the broader community, Primary Source provides learning opportunities and curriculum materials for K-12 educators. By introducing global content, Primary Source shapes the way teachers and students learn, so that their knowledge is deeper and their thinking is flexible and given to inquiry.

Founded in 1971, Center of Concern is an independent, interdisciplinary organization engaged in social analysis, theological reflection, research, education, and policy advocacy.

The mission of the New York Philharmonic is to support, maintain, and operate an internationally pre-eminent symphony orchestra in New York; to maintain and foster an interest in and enjoyment of music; to encourage the composition of symphonic music; and to instill in its community, and the nation at large, an interest in symphonic music by providing local concerts, domestic and international tours, education programs, media broadcasts, and recordings.

The Dictionary Project is a nonprofit organization that works with sponsors throughout the country to provide personal dictionaries for third grade students in public schools. The purpose of this program is to aid third grade teachers in their goal to see all their students leave at the end of the year as good writers, active readers, and creative thinkers. The dictionaries are for the children to keep, so that they can take the books with them into the fourth grade and use them throughout their school career.

The mission of the Edible Schoolyard Project is to build andshare an edible education curriculum for kindergarten through high school. Ourvision is for gardens and kitchens to become interactive classrooms foracademic subjects, and for every student to have a free, nutritious, organiclunch. If this program is integrated into schools, the curriculum couldtransform the health and values of every child in America.
