Volunteer Lethbridge was originally called the Lethbridge Volunteer Bureau when it began as a three-year, federally funded project through the YWCA in 1981. We became a registered society as an independent, not-for-profit agency in 1986 and was later renamed the Community Volunteer Center. We adopted our current name in 2000 and have been fortunate enough to be able to help countless individuals and organizations come together since our commencement. Our member agencies now top 100 and we offer a wide variety of programs and services to compliment our wonderfully diverse community. In October 2013, Volunteer Lethbridge announced a new partnership with the University of Lethbridge that saw us relocating our offices into the newly renovated Dr. James Foster Building in downtown Lethbridge.

Loving Life from the Inside Out

"At an age when others enter their most productive years,the dancer’s career often ends." DTRC programming reflects the complete career cycle of a professional dancer. Emerging dancers are empowered with an understanding of the demands of the profession and are acquainted with the support mechanisms available to help them. Mid-career artists can develop complementary skills, receive professional career counselling and prepare in advance for retirement. Retiring artists have the financial support they need to succeed in a second career.

The Douglas Institute Foundation is a Montreal public foundation, established in 1972, to promote mental health by seeking donations for the Douglas to carry out its mission. We raise funds for treating mental illness, understanding its causes, improving treatments, developing cures and sharing knowledge with others in the mental health field and the general public. We focus our fund raising on research because we believe that research will have the greatest impact on patient lives now and in the future. Our discoveries are concrete and help us find better treatments and help us understand the causes of illness, treatment and prevention. Who among us doesn't have a family member, colleague, friend, or neighbour suffering from Alzheimers, depression, anxiety, Attention Deficit Disorder or an eating disorder? You can help us help them. At Quadra Village Community Centre we are committed to building community and personal capacity. Our Mission is to work together to nurture community well-being by providing services and programs to meet social, educational, health, employment, environmental and recreational needs of people in our neighbourhood in a safe and welcoming environment. We offer various programs, outreach, support and drop-ins for children, youth, families, adults and seniors. We collaborate in constructive community initiatives.

We welcome and support all children from birth to Senior Kindergarten. East End Children’s Centre operates three Family Resource Program sites in East Toronto, where small children, along with their parents, grandparents and care providers, come to paint, explore playdough, sing songs, play and make friends from culturally and socially diverse backgrounds. Even the tiniest of babies can participate! New parents connect with other new parents, and benefit from the years of experience many other parents bring to the job. It’s a place where the important work of caring for children is highly valued. In order to reach the neediest and most isolated families, our programs are free. Families attending our programs can also access the following supports: Resources in print and DVD format on topics of interest to parents and families. Our programs also serve as an entry point for children needing assessment services, such as speech & language, child development or behaviour.

The objectives of Master's College and Seminary are: - To provide instruction in higher Christian education for Christian faith and practice; - To prepare students to serve with competence in full-time Christian professions both at home and abroad; - To equip students not anticipating full-time Christian service for positions of lay leadership and activity in various Christianministries; - That MCS be carried on as a Christian institute of theology and stand for the whole Scriptures as the all sufficient rule for faith and practice, adopting the Statement of Fundamental and Essential Truths approved by the PAOC.

After completing their Armenian education at Alex Manoogian School, students will have a first-hand experience of connecting with their land and people. This trip will be partnered with the very successful AGBU Discover Armenia program. This fund will aim to maximize educational opportunity for every child. As they embark on this rich and unique journey, we are confident that the students will return enriched and with a deeper connection to their Armenian roots. This educational trip will not only heighten their respect for their heritage but will also prepare tomorrow’s responsible leaders.

Our programs are licensed by the Ministry of Community and Social Services. The centre has a Purchase of Service Agreement with the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, and was registered as a charitable organization in 1996. The centre is open at any time for visitation with or without an appointment.

The Southdown Institute was founded specifically to address the needs of religious and clergy in areas of addiction and mental health. For over 46 years, our interdisciplinary team comprised of psychologists, psychiatrists, addictions counsellors, spiritual directors, and related professionals have helped those who minister in the Church to find healing and wholeness. The Institute is fully accredited by Accreditation Canada. Southdown remains committed to assisting the Church to provide healthy ministers and develop healthy communities of faith.

Ernestine's Women's Shelter provides a safe haven and a temporary home for women and their children fleeing domestic violence. We provide crisis intervention and a range of long-term support services, as well as unique and individualized service to each and every woman and child who passes through our doors.
