Burnaby Hospital Foundation raises funds to support the medical equipment needs of Burnaby Hospital. Burnaby Hospital is a 300 bed, community based, acute care hospital caring for over 230,000 people every year. Our Emergency department is one of the busiest in the Province of BC and treats over 45,000 adults and 12,000 children annually.

Currently, more than 20,000 Manitobans are diagnosed and one person out of every three is personally affected. The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba provides valuable programs and services for people affected by dementia, while funding research to help find a cure. The Society offers supportive counselling; caregiver education; support groups for people with dementia and for their caregivers; professional education; public awareness; the MedicAlert® Safely Home program; the First Link® program and more. The Alzheimer Society also plays an important role in advocating for change within our local, provincial and federal governments. By working to influence programs and services which directly impact people affected, the Society helps enhance the quality of life for people living with a diagnosis and the people who care for them.

The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada provides a lifelong home to donkeys and mules that have been neglected or abused, or that can no longer be cared for by their owners. The DSC provides a program in animal welfare education to school and community groups. In addition, the DSC has developed a Foster Farm Program wherein animals are placed in pairs on permanent loan at suitable farms. The Sanctuary Farm is open to the public on Wednesdays and Sundays, 10-4, May through October.

The goal is to raise the estimated $1 million needed to fund the new shelter, scheduled to open in 2015 at 5500 Lakeridge Road. Visit www.animal-shelter.ca for more information on the organization and volunteer opportunities.

The UCHS receives no funding from the government and relies on the support of donors and volunteers to maintain the operation. With a focus on education and community involvement, the UCHS reinforces its message of responsible pet ownership with an emphasis on safety, respect, care and compassion towards animals.

At Wellspring, people living with cancer tell us what helps them the most - having access to information, receiving support, and learning new ways to cope. They also tell us the cancer journey has two roads: medical and emotional. Individuals and their loved ones often have difficulty finding the emotional, psychological and practical support they so urgently require. The support provided by Wellspring becomes a vital complement to medical treatment. In Calgary, only Wellspring devotes itself exclusively to the unique non-medical needs that cancer presents. People with cancer, their families and friends can exchange information, develop a support system and create a sense of hope, in a warm, caring and welcoming atmosphere. Wellspring charges no fees. Its programs are available free to anyone living with any type of cancer at any stage. Programs include individual and group classes, coping skills, expressive therapies, energy work, educational workshops and a discussion series.

Committed to creating a world of welcome, Kinbrace actively engages people in Canada's refugee protection system by providing: Housing We transition families and singles from homelessness to regular housing. Orientation We direct newcomers through the complexities of systems and culture for purposeful integration. Accompaniment We walk with people through the vulnerability of displacement, exile and loss to strengthen resiliency. Education We inspire the Canadian public into an informed, hopeful and mobilized posture of welcome and embrace.

As the recognized fundraiser for the Stollery Children’s Hospital, the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation is committed to enhancing health services for children. More than 210,000 patient visits happen at the Stollery Children’s Hospital each year…and that number is growing. Children who benefit from the Stollery’s services come not only from Edmonton, but also northern Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, Yukon and Nunavut. Much of the work done at the Stollery Children’s Hospital is leading edge – literally the difference between life and death. Community support is crucial if we are to maintain this level of advanced care. Donations to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation will help to purchase state-of-the-art equipment, support research to provide cures and treatments for childhood diseases, fund specialized pediatric health services & programs and recruit nationally and internationally renowned scientists and doctors.

Annually over 1,000 women are homeless in Ottawa - Cornerstone provides shelter for over 400 women, serves over 140,160 nutritious meals and provides supportive housing for 68 women, many of whom are seniors. In addition, in 2011 Cornerstone secured permanent housing for 154 women; 65 women were enrolled in computer training, employment preparation and life skills courses. Our services are offered in an environment which promtes dignity and hope.

First Book Canada works through existing community programs, with Canadian publishing partners and an ever-expanding network of volunteers, to provide a steady stream of high quality books to elevate educational programming and improve access to reading materials. First Book Canada has distributed more than 1,000,000 new books since 2009 and has registered more than 1400 community and school-based organizations. Indspire (the former National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation) is a registered national charity that provides the necessary tools for Indigenous peoples, especially youth to achieve their potential. Our focus is on supporting, innovating, and fundamentally transforming Indigenous education. To date, Indspire’s Building Brighter Futures: Bursaries and Scholarship Awards program has awarded over $49-million in bursaries and scholarships to over 14,000 First Nation, Inuit and Métis students nationwide. Our other programs, Soaring: Indigenous Youth Career Conferences and Industry in the Classroom: Indigenous Youth Career Seminars, focus on introducing students to potential careers and opportunities. Each year we recognize 14 outstanding Indigenous achievers at the Indspire Awards. This nationally televised gala provides role models for Indigenous youth and celebrates the rich contributions First Nation, Inuit and Métis people have made to their communities and Canada.
