Kuhn Employment Opportunities, Inc. is a non-profit human services organization committed to helping people with disabilities find and retain employment as well as participate in meaningful day support programs. From its humble beginnings in 1962 using Ernest B. Kuhn's small garage to serve a handful of young people, Kuhn has grown to approximately 450 participants who are supported in a variety of diverse programs. The agency provides person-centered program planning, job skill assessment opportunities, job development, on-the-job training and supervision, and transportation services to meet individual needs. The mission of Miami Is Kind is to provide employment and educational opportunities for young adults with autism DD through employment in a real business setting. Our strategy is creating partnerships with local bakeries & schools. Miami Is Kind, with direct coaching education and employment, is an industrial bakery and the first factory for professionals with autism DD in South Florida. Miami Is Kind started in October 2015 with two bakers and today employs six bakers that work alongside other typically developed employees. Our goal is employing 20 bakers by 2020.
