Our philosophy is that substance use disorders are treatable, chronic diseases whose progression can be interrupted at any point. We believe that substance use disorder education, treatment, and support are effective ways to intervene in the progression and development of chemical dependency, and to allow for sustained, long-term recovery.

The goal for each family turning to SAFEchild is the same: To build a stronger family and create a healthy, nurturing environment that enables children to thrive.
A Child’s Haven is a 501(c)(3) organization that treats children with developmental delays as a result of limited resources, abuse, or neglect, and provides support and education for their families. They are guided by their Executive Director’s vision to ensure that all children in their community are prepared to start school and have families that nurture their success.

We are passionate about tackling the stigma related to mental health within the black community. We remove barriers to receive culturally competent therapy that promotes healing to those who have experienced childhood, racial, systemic, and other trauma.We focus on the intersectionality of race, gender, and the criminal legal system. Our approach includes the use of artistic expression to address complex trauma. Many have had traumatic experiences either do not have the words to verbally express their emotions or simply aren’t ready to talk about their experiences. Using various modalities including art therapy, play therapy, hip hop therapy and other trauma specific supports, participants are able to begin their healing journey.
