Marc Gold, the founder of the 100 Friends Project, is a philanthropic traveler who aims to provide assistance to some of the most needy people in the poorest parts of the world who are lacking in medical, educational and financial resources. The organization improves these people's quality of life in a number of ways. Sometimes the help comes in the form of financial assistance. Usually this would be a one-time donation but sometimes this can be followed up with further payments. In some circumstances, donations can consist of blankets, medications, food, and other practical everyday items that can significantly improve people's standard of living. The 100 Friends Project has helped people living in poverty and deprivation to set up businesses of their own, get off the streets and into safe housing, benefit from an education, access vaccinations and medical care and brings people hope and the chance of a future. The project also proves what an important and significant difference can be made with very small amounts of money and resources, when it is distributed directly into the hands of those whose needs are the greatest.

Hands for Africa is a nonprofit organization working to restore lost hope to those devastated by the civil war in Sierra Leone. We support amputees by developing and implementing self-reliance programs and providing the necessary aid for the advancement of these programs.

The primary purpose to join and organize Ecuadorians, their families and friends or other nations that live in California so that jointly we can carry on projects of assistance to those in need in Ecuador and in the United States. AECalifornia carries on its objectives by social activities, intellectual, cultural, sports and events of service to the community. The organization is open to the public at large and welcomes anyone who shares our ideas and not for profit activities, our mission and objectives. We share friendship, typical Ecuadorian food and that of other countries. Together we plan projects to help our brothers and sisters in need in Ecuador and in the United States. We share our friendship, culture, music, singing and dancing and organize activities to raise funds to carry on our charitable activities in support of hospitals, nursing homes, emergency relief, medical missions, for children and the needy. We support the medical missions from American doctors going to Ecuador to perform surgeries on Ecuadorian children and the poor.

Matter is a non-profit organization that believes the simple act of being resourceful can change the world. Since 2000 - when the organization began operating as "Hope for the City" - we have re-purposed valuable goods and distributed material resources to organizations serving those living in scarcity. Over the next 14 years, we have evolved to become an organization that has helped distribute more than $550 million in wholesale goods to people in need all over the world. And that was just the beginning. We have come to understand that, while the amount of goods donated is great, the number of lives impacted is something far greater and more important. Through the simple act of being resourceful, we are addressing the needs of people living in scarcity while creating a better world. Today, Hope for the City has grown to be called "Matter", a name that stands for not only what we distribute, but also a call to action for us all to matter more. Although our name has changed, we will always be an organization founded at the intersection of faith and opportunity.

Our Christ-centered mission is to provide excellent physical, spiritual, emotional, educational & economic care for at-risk children and families in Haiti, empowering the most vulnerable and disadvantaged.
