Mission MSA (formerly the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition) is a positive beacon of hope standing up to a little known, rare, insidious disorder. Mission MSA has a primary purpose of assisting researchers to find a cure. In the meantime, Mission MSA also provides much needed patient and caregiver support, educational resources, and advocacy to create awareness and to fight for issues important to the MSA community. The National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (NPCF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding and developing novel research and clinical trials to find less toxic, more effective treatments for childhood cancer. Our purpose is to reduce the side effects of current treatments, improve survival rates, and ultimately eliminate childhood cancer. NPCF is a nonprofit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. At the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, we are aggressively pursuing measurable change in how pediatric cancer research is approached and funded through our collaborative research consortium, the Sunshine Project. The Sunshine Project’s one-of-a-kind research model focuses on translational studies and phase 0, 1, and 2 clinical trials that address a multitude of different pediatric cancers. Our innovative approach capitalizes on the strengths of researchers from various scientific fields throughout the country, streamlining the protocol development process to deliver more personalized medicine to children with cancer. This utilization of scientific and philanthropic partnerships allows us to fast-track potential new therapies with less toxicity into clinical trials. The treatment options currently being discovered bring great promise for children who have not experienced positive results under the standard treatment protocol.

The mission of Casting for Recovery (CfR) is to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing. The retreats offer opportunities for women to find inspiration, discover renewed energy for life and experience healing connections with other women and nature. CfR’s retreats are open to breast cancer survivors of all ages, in all stages of treatment and recovery, and are free to participants. On a physical level, the gentle, rhythmic motion of fly casting is similar to exercises often prescribed after surgery or radiation to promote soft tissue stretching. On an emotional level, women are given the opportunity to experience a new activity in a safe environment amongst a supportive group of peers. The retreats provide resources to help address quality of life issues after a breast cancer diagnosis, and a new outlet – fly fishing – as a reprieve from the everyday stresses and challenges of their cancer.

The Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) is the oldest and largest national nonprofit voluntary health organization focused on improving the quality of life for people with lupus. Our unique dual mission serves the ongoing needs of people affected by lupus today while leading efforts to find a cure – from care to cure!  Through the national office in Washington, DC and a nationwide network of chapters, offices, support groups and community representatives, the LFA conducts programs of research, education, and advocacy.  The LFA is leading efforts to bring national attention and resources to bear upon lupus in order to shine a light on this medically underserved disease, accelerate the pace of medical research on lupus, build support for the needs of those affected by lupus, and elevate lupus to a place of prominence on the nation’s health care agenda.

Project C.U.R.E. was founded in 1987 to help bridge staggering health resource gaps in the developing world by matching medical supplies and modern equipment with facilities in need to empower doctors and nurses with the tools they need to treat disease, deliver vaccines, perform life-changing surgeries and ensure safe childbirth. Project C.U.R.E. operates distribution centers in Colorado, Tennessee, Texas and Arizona and receives donations of supplies and specialized equipment from hundreds of U.S. hospitals and medical manufacturers. Thanks to the dedication of thousands of volunteers nationwide, two to three cargo containers of life-saving aid leave Project C.U.R.E.’s warehouses every week. In addition, Project C.U.R.E. sends volunteer medical teams to underserved facilities abroad to provide free care and train local healthcare staff. Today, Project C.U.R.E. is the world’s largest distributor of medical donations to resource-limited communities across the globe, touching the lives of patients, families and children in 130 countries.

The mission of United Help Ukraine (UHU) is to provide the people of Ukraine with critical support that will enable them to survive in the face of adversity, to defend and regain their sovereign territory, and to rebuild and thrive well into the future. UHU is committed to maximizing the impact of charitable contributions by providing humanitarian, medical and psychological assistance to those affected by the war. We also focus on raising awareness and advocating for Ukraine to remain a free, democratic and independent nation.

International Medical Corps is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and medical relief programs. Established in 1984 by volunteer United States doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care and economic systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.
