THE MISSION OF THE HMK PROGRAMS IS TO CULTIVATE PRIDE AND LEADERSHIP BY LIVING HAWAIIAN VALUES. HMKF'S VISION IS "WAIMANALO, A MODEL FOR THE WORLD".
My Brother Vinny is a 100 % Volunteer , NYS 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. We provide furniture and housewares "Free of Charge" to formerly homeless US Veterans “Free of Charge” throughout the Hudson Valley Region and NYC. We run an annual My Brother Vinny Walk and help local animal shelters and rescue groups in the aid and support of animal welfare. We establish and implement community based events geared towards improving the enjoyment of life, happiness and health of the emotionally, physically and intellectually disabled.
Mid-Autumn Youth Summit (MAYS), a regional celebration that creates sports and educational competitions for Santa Clara and San Mateo County high school students to play and learn about Vietnamese culture with the purpose to preserve and extend Vietnamese American heritage. MAYS is organized by Viet-American Youth Association (VietAYA) and its Coalition, composed of education and community leaders who care about the success of students. Our goal is to foster leadership skills through teamwork which allows students to build trust and stronger bonds amongst each other. Annually, we have between 250 - 450 student participates, representing 6 -12 schools across the Bay Area. The following programs to participating students: Scholarships for juniors and seniors, life-skill leadership workshops, Olympics games, Cultural Jeopardy contest, Public Speaking contest, Cultural Pitch game, Debate, and Cultural Talent Show contest.
Indigenous Lenses is a 501(c)3, Utah-based non-profit corporation dedicated to ethnographic documentary film and video productions for educational, cultural and scientific purposes. Our Productions will focus on indigenous healer from around the world, recording their stories within the context of their cultures Emphasis will be placed on those healers and healing practices threatened with extinction through acculturation and/or assimilation. The corporation shall also engage in humanitarian work in the communities where we film to help bring education to the girls of those communities, provide food and shelter to indigent Tibetan elders in the refugee camps and support eye and medical care for the Nepali and Tibetan communities.
