Woof Gang Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit, no kill, all volunteer dog rescue organization serving not only the Wisconsin and Illinois area but Arkansas, Missouri and Oh?io as well. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason-focusing on dogs in shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation and owner surrenders, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. We also find it very rewarding to give breeder dogs a second chance by finding them a forever loving home. These dogs have been given up for a number of reasons including: medical issues,done breeding, or simply dogs that didn't sell.Our goal is to place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and cost of bringing a dog into their homes and lives.Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appr

Lange Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving impounded companion animals and preparing them for their journey to a new, safe, loving world.

Since its founding in 1951 the Animal Welfare Institute (AWI) has sought to reduce the sum total of pain and fear inflicted on animals by people. In the organization's early years our particular emphasis was on the desperate needs of animals used for experimentation. In the decades that followed we expanded the scope of our work to address many other areas of animal suffering. Today one of our greatest areas of emphasis is cruel animal factories, which raise and slaughter pigs, cows, chickens and other animals. The biggest are in our country, and they are expanding worldwide. Specific goals are: --Abolishing factory farms and achieving humane slaughter for all animals raised for meat. --Improving the housing and handling of animals used for experimentation and pushing for the development of animal research alternatives. --Ending the use of steel-jaw leghold traps and reforming other cruel methods of controlling wildlife populations. --Preserving species threatened with extinction and protecting wildlife in international trade. --Enforcing strict regulation of transport conditions for all animals. --Encouraging animal-friendly science teaching and preventing painful experiments on animals by students.

The Aquarium of the Pacific’s mission is to instill a sense of wonder, respect, and stewardship for the Pacific Ocean, its inhabitants, and ecosystems. Our vision is to create an aquarium dedicated to conserving and building Natural Capital (Nature and Nature’s services) by building Social Capital (the interactions between and among peoples). The Aquarium of the Pacific is the fourth most-attended aquarium in the nation. It displays over 11,000 animals in more than 50 exhibits that represent the diversity of the Pacific Ocean. Each year more than 1.5 million people visit the Aquarium. Beyond its world-class animal exhibits, the Aquarium offers educational programs for people of all ages from hands-on activities to lectures by leading scientists. Through these programs and a variety of multimedia experiences, the Aquarium provides opportunities to delve deeper into ocean science and learn more about our planet. The Aquarium of the Pacific has redefined the modern aquarium. It is a community gathering place where diverse cultures and the arts are celebrated and a place where important topics facing our planet and our ocean are explored by scientists, policy-makers and stakeholders in the search for sustainable solutions.
