Michele’s Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue located in Grand Rapids, Michigan which was started in 1997. We are a no kill rescue that takes in and adopts out animals from all over the country. Most of the animals we take in are in line to be “put-down” and need rescues like ours to find them a happy and loving home.
Wine To The Rescue works in the community to help shelters who do not receive enough funding to care for animals. In addition we work with Rescues to pull those animals most at risk in the shelters and fund the medical care. We also advocate for better laws to convict those who abuse animals, animal cruelty units that are accountable and education (spay/neuter, heartworm treatment and basic animal care requirements) in lower income communities.
Our obligation is to serve as a responsible land steward of the Refuge property and its natural resources, while promoting, implementing, and supporting environmental education.
Our mission here at Peace and Paws is to match the world’s best dogs with the world’s best people. We are committed to improving the lives of these animals, supporting spay and neuter education and trap-neuter-and-return programs, and continually finding ways to preserve the well-being of these rescued animals. We are a non-profit, all volunteer, foster-based rescue committed to saving our treasured friends from high-kill shelters.
A Purposeful Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit that saves dogs from high-kill Los Angeles area shelters. There are many amazing dogs who get overlooked, or need a little extra work and care, and we aim to give those dogs a second chance. We strongly believe that we will not adopt our way out of the problem of pet overpopulation, which is why we focus heavily on prevention and community outreach. Primarily focused on South Central Los Angeles, we promote spay and neuter and education. We rely on the hard work and dedication of our volunteers.
Dachshund Paws and Pals is a non-profit 501(C)3, no kill organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned dachshunds and other small breeds from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, and boarding facilities , we have been able to rescue hundreds of dogs, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. A big focus of our rescue is to educate potential adopters and the general public of the importance of spaying or neutering ones pet.
We mainly specialize in very old dachshunds pulled from shelters, puppy mill dachshunds, and severely disabled dachshunds that require ongoing medical care, We have blind and deaf, and 7 with IVDD and countless that have come here for hospice care. The sanctuary is run out of our home. The dogs have free run of our home. We have adopted out 41 some dogs and helped another 47 to the bridge in the last 10 years. We have tried to provide the best last chapter for these dogs so that when it is time to go to the bridge they have known love, they have been owned, they had a name, they have known the feel of a warm bed (mostly my bed). Each of our departed dogs were held in my arms as they passed and each one broke our hearts but we saw them through all the way to the end. This is the hardest part of rescue or any pet ownership and we are proud of all of our work.
The mission of Animal House is to decrease the euthanasia rate of adoptable dogs and puppies by: -Collaborating with overpopulated and underserved shelters -Providing the community with education, information, and outreach -Providing adoption opportunities for homeless animals and giving them what they need most, time to find their forever homes
We are a special needs dog rescue based in Orlando, FL . Currently on the road to our dream of a South Carolina special-needs dog sanctuary, our passion lies with dogs that are viewed as "imperfect" or "different". Until the sanctuary project is realized, we work with a network of Central Florida foster homes and are always looking for foster families to partner with in order to save and rehabilitate dogs.
We are a 501c3 non-profit organization who helps the homeless dogs of Woodruff County "Get A Life". We manage the adoptions at the Augusta Shelter and rescue dogs from the McCrory and Patterson dog pounds and off the country roads. We place them in foster homes and provide all vet expenses to get them ready for their forever homes. We operate on donations and adoption fees and with your help, we can provide these dogs a comfortable and hopefully temporary place to stay and continue our successful adoption program. To us, rescue isn't just about the dogs and cats. It is also about bringing joy and happiness into lives of adopters who have a void that only a furry friend can fill!
SmallDog Rescue and Humane Society, Inc. (SDR) is a 501(c)(3) Georgia nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to finding loving families for homeless dogs in Georgia. We rescue “at risk” dogs from local shelters and animal control facilities. “At risk” dogs are those who have run out of time at shelters, have medical conditions, or need more socialization before being placed in a home. We also rescue many highly adoptable small breeds – Chihuahuas, Shih Tzus, Pugs, Poodles, Dachshunds, Maltese, Terriers, Bichon Frises – it is a truly a myth that only mixed breeds end up homeless! Our volunteers work to socialize our dogs and provide them with loving care. Through our foster homes, we assess the dogs in a home setting, allowing us to better understand the kind of home and family the dog will need. SmallDog Rescue and Humane Society, Inc. (SDR) has now teamed up with Furkids, Inc. to help find more animals (dogs and cats) loving homes.
