HUMANITY AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION is a non-governmental, non-profit organization advocating for humanity and community development by initiating ideas, programs and projects that aimed at providing solutions to the critical areas of sustainable development that include access to clean water, good health, quality education, peace and ensuring accountability and social justice.
Through Preventing Early Childhood Malaria in Rural Communities of Zamfara State we reduced by 50% mortality of maternal mothers and under 5-years children due to malaria disease in 4 rural communities. We distributed LLIN to pregnant women, children and IDPs. We also trained health workers on Early Childhood Malaria Prevention and Diagnosis and recruit conducted community sensitization campaigns in 4 rural communities.
Shinkafi is one of the LGA mostly affected by insecurity in Zamfara State that resulted in displacement of thousands of people. The IDPs in this LGA are facing immense challenges, including lack of access to shelter, food, clean water, healthcare and other basic necessities and thus the need for urgent provision of humanitarian assistance to these vulnerable populations and extend a helping hand to those in need. This project distributed 140 essential food items to provided relief to this group of people, with about 500 direct and indirect beneficiaries.
Our approach to the people affected by conflict, natural disasters, and other emergencies is to make their life easier and reduce health related risks. We distributed LLIN and clothes over 2,000 IDPs and their children. This initiative has helped the IDPs to maintain better personal hygiene, while also reducing the risk of skin diseases and infections. It however boosted their self-esteem and mental well-being. 2 IDP Camps and 6 Primary Health Centres benefitted.
Our Give Water Save Life Initiative has successfully constructed and launched 2 Nos of Water boreholes in Janyau Ta Gabas and Hayin Malam Ibrahim Local Communities giving water access to over 5,000 people. This initiative has offered a viable and durable option to significantly improve water accessibility, health outcomes, and overall human and community development.
Trained and equipped 40 vulnerable youths from Sabon Gari Ward of Gusau Local Government Area in tailoring, shoe-making and liquid soap making for them to find business and be self-reliant, deviate from devilry and be agents of positive change in the society. 85% of the beneficiaries of this skills training now owns their business centres in their communities.
