Our Mission

Mid-Autumn Youth Summit (MAYS), a regional celebration that creates sports and educational competitions for Santa Clara and San Mateo County high school students to play and learn about Vietnamese culture with the purpose to preserve and extend Vietnamese American heritage.

MAYS is organized by Viet-American Youth Association (VietAYA) and its Coalition, composed of education and community leaders who care about the success of students. Our goal is to foster leadership skills through teamwork which allows students to build trust and stronger bonds amongst each other.

Annually, we have between 250 - 450 student participates, representing 6 -12 schools across the Bay Area.

The following programs to participating students: Scholarships for juniors and seniors, life-skill leadership workshops, Olympics games, Cultural Jeopardy contest, Public Speaking contest, Cultural Pitch game, Debate, and Cultural Talent Show contest.

"It was my first cultural program that I've ever participated in. I felt I really found my identity through the MAYS Program. I have not participated in any program similar to MAYS before. I only found out about this program and it's my senior year, so I'm disappointed that I won't be able to participate next year."
